Vietnam History MusuemI learned that there have been Vietnamese peoples living in Vietnam for over 5,000 years. There are more 53 ethnic minorities in Vietnam with different cultures, and traditions. Their languages span the 7 separate world language families. This museum was built like a Chinese Temple and used principles of ventilation and balance to keep the rooms and exhibits cool even in the heat of the Saigon afternoon (90 degrees F). Ben Thanh Market in Saigon
I can see why you wouldn't be able to see the signs dividing the departments between the mile-high stacks of goods. The market captures the chaos and bustle of Vietnam. Though it is roughly organized into categories like garments, food (cooked and uncooked), electronics and housewares, chaos and make-shift organization reigns. Hundreds of merchants are here. Your senses are bombarded with the smells and sounds of life that Americans are usually isolated from by our ordered, sanitized society. next «1 2 3» previous |
